Testing Button Battery Products to Standard
UL4200A
The legislation and associated mandatory standards refer to design, construction, compliance and testing requirements for products contianing button batteries. Several standards are nominated by the legislation.
At BB Labs we (usually) rely on “UL4200A : Standard For Safety : Products Incorporating Button or Coin Cell Batteries of Lithium Technologies". It is very similar to AS62368, but the legislation does not require tool-opening if the UL Standard is adopted.
